I will be making fired natural clay bricks, tiles, and even compressed earth bricks or "CEB"s. Much of what I make will be for projects around home that I have dreamt up over time. I offer to make for you bricks with your name on them for a small cost as well. I may from time to time stray to some of my other creations that I think you may find of interest also. Please leave a comment for me about what you find here.rwhendrixhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11031355356490984560noreply@blogger.comBlogger128125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900243389389147175.post-12039426711697310742014-06-09T14:37:00.000-04:002014-06-09T14:37:11.456-04:00High water of JuneIn Indiana it seems like June brings storms, rain, and wind. A few years ago a big storm came thru in early June and with it floods. My old makeshift atv bridge washed away. Last June a big wind storm rolled thru at night and blew several trees down on my property. A few of which were likely over 100 years old. With that a massive oak fell onto my newly constructed bridge causing alot of truss damage. This June came 2+ inches of rain saturday night. No damage this time, but the waters came up to give my new dam under construction a good test.<br />

This is near the lower end of the canal.<br />
Where I am wanting to install the water wheel.<br />
This temporary wood dam will be replaced with a concrete one.<br />
<br />
There is about 2 1/2 feet of head at this point. Not alot, but with the water flow it should work out.<br />

This was after some 2 or more inches of new rain a few weeks ago. The dam worked great. But after about 4 days it had undermined the gravel and had a blow out in the center of it. So Ive had to go back and make improvements.<br />
<br />

Looking to be able to raise and lower water level in the dam quickly, I built a gate. It can be raised and lowered by turning a threaded screw. It works good but I need to add some kind of sealing strip to control leaking.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijTXwVE7j9lA7QzrSblMclr01Bzs0srSm8zV3_NqY_M9_fswCQjkvvCueK8dmK1qcaLAeS5tnOb_G_0FEAidUd5G-V69jmGi6PRSegD862jKCFz0P_KADc7YHUS4deBJv7FE02dYZmseyJ/s1600/IMG_20140528_195256_938.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijTXwVE7j9lA7QzrSblMclr01Bzs0srSm8zV3_NqY_M9_fswCQjkvvCueK8dmK1qcaLAeS5tnOb_G_0FEAidUd5G-V69jmGi6PRSegD862jKCFz0P_KADc7YHUS4deBJv7FE02dYZmseyJ/s1600/IMG_20140528_195256_938.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></div>
It works well enough for now. You may have noticed I lined the side of the dam with concrete. This was because of endless small leaks I was patching and filling in. The dam so far is a single log lined with plastic tarp, filled in with rocks, gravel and sand. Then covered in a layer of concrete. Its sloped to deflect the force of the water on it. Because of the success of this I am going to add the same to the down stream slope of the dam as well soon. Hopefully it will be able to survive most floods.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Heres a .gif I found on the web showing how the gate on the dam works. Pretty simple.<br />

This is a simple water wheel I put together to get started with. Later on there will be a bigger one if this project is successful.<br />
<br />
I dont expect to power alot with any of this. Thats just not the scale of what Im trying to do. If I can get enough power out of this to provide free 24 hour barn and stall lighting that will be great. Maybe a radio and a small water feed pump too.<br />

<br />
<div align="center">

<div align="center">
I now have the in feed canal dug to the water table depth by hand.</div>
<div align="center">
It will need widened to fit the block lining so sidewalls don't collapse.</div>
<div align="center">
There is quite a bit of useful sand and gravel I have gathered out from the dig so far.</div>
<div align="center">
Its hard to tell from the photo, but there is a gentle downward sloping as i dig the length. Hard to notice. Inches of slope over many feet. But you can tell by the water gathering to one end. It doesn't lie. </div>

Its been quite a long time since my last post here. Life is going well again for us here. 2012 was a bad year for me and my family. I had a heart attack in July and my son Daniel was killed in an auto accident three days later. 2013 was ups and downs as well. We found the long ongoing trouble for my wife Jackie was diabetes. With medication and now a surgery, she is doing much better. So my mind hadn't really been on projects alot and reporting them even less. But things have settled down and I'm back at it again! So hold on and here we go.,,<br />
<br />
Ive added siding to my barn, still have more to do but its getting there. Pouring concrete floor in barn too. Added a yet to be completed horse stall to rear of barn. Began a hydroelectric project making use of the now dammed up water in the creek as my energy source. Made some needed repairs to my bulldozers fuel system and tracks. Bought a new to me flatbed trailer. Got my antique cement mixer working. Cut down several storm damage trees for firewood and logging timber. My bridge had severe storm damage June of 2013 that I had to repair. My son William is now in the US Army Infantry. I got a new job too.<br />
<br />
Here are some pics, not in any particular order. More to follow soon.<br />

Last weekend I finally got the chance to begin installing the metal roof onto my barn!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I have never done this before. I had always used fiberglass or alsphalt shingles. With a bit of online research and advice from others that had done it before, I got the hang of it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The weather took a turn colder the next day, so Im waiting for this weekend to get back on the roof to get more done. Got a long way to go. What do you thing of it so far? I like the look of it.rwhendrixhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11031355356490984560noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900243389389147175.post-75182331406030469362012-12-05T22:30:00.003-05:002012-12-05T22:30:46.151-05:00Maiden voyage across my bridge.Everything went perfect. I drove my tractor, all 8000 lbs of it, across my bridge today. There was no signs of trouble at all. I had set up a crude measurement gauge under the bridge. I wanted to se if I could detect and measure any sag in the bridge as I placed a load onto the deck. If there was any, I couldnt tell. It showed no signs of any downward movement as I drove the tractor across.<br />

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here are a few photos of my recent work on the bridge across hurricane creek. I am backfilling the concrete abutment with fill dirt from the nearby hillside.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It has been awhile since I posted any updates. Some other bridge info for you, the deck is made from pressure treated 4x6 12 ft timbers. That has been the single most expensive part of construction for me. Each board cost around $18 and there are 65 of them!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The underlying bridge beams are from trees I had cut down in the woods over the summer. Averaging 12" in diameter and over 40 ft long. They were a real handfull for three of us to drag across into place.</div>

The old dozer is my Allis Chalmers HD5. Built sometime in the 1950s. It has served me well over the years. A few weeks ago I was able to lift the roof to my barn tower. With the assistance of my two sons Will and Dan. I am not wild about high places and came up with the solution to constructing the tower roof in place was to hoist it up with my jib crane. </div>

In cold climates, these trees store starch in their trunks and roots before the winter; the starch is then converted to sugar that rises in the sap in the spring. Maple trees can be tapped by boring holes into their trunks and collecting the exuded sap. The sap is processed by heating to evaporate much of the water, leaving the concentrated syrup."</div><br /><div></div><br /><div>I will post updates when we have collected enough maple sap to boil down into syrup. Several inches of rain pushed the water level of the creek up to within a few feet of the bottom cord of steel. All went well. No damage or undermining found. With the weather getting cooler and winter on the way, I wont have time to cut and prepare all of the heavy timbers for the full deck. That will have to be done next summer. So, until then, to get use out of all my hard work so far, I went for a temporary decking for my 4 wheel ATV.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhofjN5qC9eYqX-ncrlHWWPLUEcVEJqRoxhJsBw936LLhvAfO6IMr0J3o8NlOMs4yj8ACjuzR8tVYNp_N8GtC1aRPj2pa4PtbhqMEv5HpIWQSOdLW6azr0kE9I-Rf-CQHk1QwKyOddfsrHJ/s1600/bridgedeck+110611+003.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5672988085834375330" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhofjN5qC9eYqX-ncrlHWWPLUEcVEJqRoxhJsBw936LLhvAfO6IMr0J3o8NlOMs4yj8ACjuzR8tVYNp_N8GtC1aRPj2pa4PtbhqMEv5HpIWQSOdLW6azr0kE9I-Rf-CQHk1QwKyOddfsrHJ/s320/bridgedeck+110611+003.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div>This will be a big help during the heavy spring rains and high water. The bridge is now resting on its concrete piers. It was manual labor with a ratcheting chain winch and two comelongs. I used the dozer as a fixed anchor point only. The move and positioning of the trusses was too delicate for brute diesel power.<br /><br /><div><br /><div>I spent all day on the move, inch by inch it crept outward over the abyss. Help arrived in the afternoon when my son returned home from school and lend me a hand to finish the work. Im greatful for his help. Im blessed with two near adult sons that I lean on from time to time. </div><br /><div>The work is far from done, as now I have to finish the positioning and anchor the bridge in place. The second truss is up and aligned with the first. Some more bracing needs done and all the cross framing needs added to give it rigidity. Then the path has to be cleared up to the creek.<br />The plan is to drag it up to and then across the bridge abutments and over the creek with my dozer. More to come!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggLEN6kpYGvb-V4XGHF800iwVfPU2oB0eGlUUNcajiG2LVN9jTSwRWCu0NfXuQjtyW_eGRIdrYuOvcbqAiIMeR5jTDPaYDCb7FjWDIl-nHaV5ztwv6OLutANHgqtP2ln0fy6FvfZBzcmxJ/s1600/bridge+9611+002.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649262817338482642" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggLEN6kpYGvb-V4XGHF800iwVfPU2oB0eGlUUNcajiG2LVN9jTSwRWCu0NfXuQjtyW_eGRIdrYuOvcbqAiIMeR5jTDPaYDCb7FjWDIl-nHaV5ztwv6OLutANHgqtP2ln0fy6FvfZBzcmxJ/s320/bridge+9611+002.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyNXZJULAwvGqQkqw-sX8fbpBZC7BKPjmYlMpBTd6ycNe7IjqQFQ1vQO5wyXR7R1_sqmBWaNiV2OUvzDmaWUU5Z64v6PxaBkWahDkObuA4blwwQN7X5qpGOso3JSDpcwZcRv_jAD12cxjK/s1600/bridge+9611+001.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5649262811853659618" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyNXZJULAwvGqQkqw-sX8fbpBZC7BKPjmYlMpBTd6ycNe7IjqQFQ1vQO5wyXR7R1_sqmBWaNiV2OUvzDmaWUU5Z64v6PxaBkWahDkObuA4blwwQN7X5qpGOso3JSDpcwZcRv_jAD12cxjK/s320/bridge+9611+001.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div>rwhendrixhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11031355356490984560noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900243389389147175.post-17795792512822672112011-08-31T08:30:00.003-04:002011-08-31T08:42:44.359-04:00Bridge progressHere is a photo of the first steel truss being lifted into its upright position.

But I thought to post an update on where Im at with it. There are to efforts going on at the same time, pier construction and truss fabrication.<br />Im in the first stages of laying out the scrap metal to see what the trusses will look like and make changes where needed. I then have to cut all the pieces to fit together and make ready for welding.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ5uGlppsvASzLEnpWyX_o_my0V1yZ2TSPs9Ak8EhRXtI_5p6xxiiff9n31KYgIGZLwdK8rFpjoFBQqcLLVowDf_1FVhp-EzudNZHQ4ua4u34-viSdxg9qvfz2PDJq7Nz85eX34KDOv94f/s1600/0627011551.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5623227766377199362" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZ5uGlppsvASzLEnpWyX_o_my0V1yZ2TSPs9Ak8EhRXtI_5p6xxiiff9n31KYgIGZLwdK8rFpjoFBQqcLLVowDf_1FVhp-EzudNZHQ4ua4u34-viSdxg9qvfz2PDJq7Nz85eX34KDOv94f/s320/0627011551.jpg" /></a><br /><br />Most of my work has been on the center pier lately. Adding height to it in order to bring it level with both bank abutments. Laying courses of free salvage concrete blocks and filling in the center of the pier with rocks and rubble from the creek, I have built a solid center load bearing structure. Both the ends are made from 55 gallon barrels filled with rock and covered in concrete. Im thinking about covering the long faces of the pier with brick to match the abutments.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPeZc-2uayvP0FGwGoiuVGKWMmgsH6zc-_I_I5ZeNXHJPkVnxtZuNRCd5tgv4YFe5KvS7zewRrCVeB2aseIG3Cy-M4SmkTicQfDh0FpY_xFhKEYtSv6Gpyux65VexHd17doJ8HDMNhNBE0/s1600/downsized_0622011453.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5623227757023607538" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPeZc-2uayvP0FGwGoiuVGKWMmgsH6zc-_I_I5ZeNXHJPkVnxtZuNRCd5tgv4YFe5KvS7zewRrCVeB2aseIG3Cy-M4SmkTicQfDh0FpY_xFhKEYtSv6Gpyux65VexHd17doJ8HDMNhNBE0/s320/downsized_0622011453.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div></div>rwhendrixhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11031355356490984560noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900243389389147175.post-25360883804966471082011-05-17T18:16:00.002-04:002011-05-17T18:25:32.561-04:00Firing results from the brick clamp kiln.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgshDDbGqMRADNbdPf0qminPeOSDN-4WhKjauRb87Nv3lukArl-0KO9rIBZy6CHlJOzfXYZgHxPmWg8zuZEE8woWIBgKMRDpSZQxcMS57gvIkZU5CKWxU1WCGClljPzz5U-UM669XRu_ZNs/s1600/may14brick7.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5607813383012362002" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgshDDbGqMRADNbdPf0qminPeOSDN-4WhKjauRb87Nv3lukArl-0KO9rIBZy6CHlJOzfXYZgHxPmWg8zuZEE8woWIBgKMRDpSZQxcMS57gvIkZU5CKWxU1WCGClljPzz5U-UM669XRu_ZNs/s320/may14brick7.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipwM1HZkIrvwjQapCWlWoz-5cmvXYYcSSiGbRldGN6FaWHWsA4X7oSY_B33z84hM9DJLosFuQzrvW2CMcSa83DjpeIdyKx4IJZxexlNL9VTbBhgsHW1071DwdtFl4dIUt2zSXTA4qmV8Cj/s1600/may14brick3.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5607813378538461378" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipwM1HZkIrvwjQapCWlWoz-5cmvXYYcSSiGbRldGN6FaWHWsA4X7oSY_B33z84hM9DJLosFuQzrvW2CMcSa83DjpeIdyKx4IJZxexlNL9VTbBhgsHW1071DwdtFl4dIUt2zSXTA4qmV8Cj/s320/may14brick3.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkDRxDMR8KhyOMDNAAR8G1ffx7M3EJxqqO3uen0QPvBu-TY6e_1zi0IWDqB-CMrSgk7vLVPFRLDU8iImRFy_qViRAnAu_Dcpe4WLN8XYlji5fd4j6sf7NtT2lTDcBWBOz7Bo0tJIjeHQlk/s1600/may14brick1.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5607813374811521826" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkDRxDMR8KhyOMDNAAR8G1ffx7M3EJxqqO3uen0QPvBu-TY6e_1zi0IWDqB-CMrSgk7vLVPFRLDU8iImRFy_qViRAnAu_Dcpe4WLN8XYlji5fd4j6sf7NtT2lTDcBWBOz7Bo0tJIjeHQlk/s320/may14brick1.jpg" /></a><br />As promised, some photos of fired brick and tile from my latest kiln. It worked very well for a first firing. I have some cold spots and hot spots to improve on next firing. I think nothing will change with the kiln design for now. I will modify how I push the hot coals around in the firebox and stoking in the later stages. Its a learning process, but Im excited about this. Thankfully the rain didn't come as had been forcasted. All went well and the firing from start to finish took a little over 26 hours. The kilns hunger for wood wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be either. We went through about half of the wood I had set aside for the firing. In total, about 120 bricks, 50 tiles, and 30 clay coasters were loaded inside.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQCZOHFWNkKJ17q7CyOLk1m8VL76G0MX9tzcLBldeyptzFikT6xGST88dGgOBa86E3J1VbvCddsQq-Ca_dSIsBTASen8zVc-GR8CCDHlKiNEtax9R9lq0k8Z7E1t1s_Ft7dPr4DAYryG69/s1600/IMG_1830.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5607311719875045074" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQCZOHFWNkKJ17q7CyOLk1m8VL76G0MX9tzcLBldeyptzFikT6xGST88dGgOBa86E3J1VbvCddsQq-Ca_dSIsBTASen8zVc-GR8CCDHlKiNEtax9R9lq0k8Z7E1t1s_Ft7dPr4DAYryG69/s320/IMG_1830.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div>My pyrometer temp sensors wern't in the best locations as they didn't seem to reflect temps I was observing in the kiln. I have been honored with the task of building a replica historical brickmaking kiln at the Wabash and Erie Canal Park. There you can find a village with several cabins and period homes and other structures from the 1830's to 1880's time frame. They also have an actual reconstructed canal boat that offers rides. For those of you with an interest in metalworking there is a blacksmith shop as well as two iron bridges nearby that have been restored.</div><br /><div>The new kiln is a scaled down simple updraft clamp scove fired by wood. This is much like kilns of that time in this area. It is designed to fire a few hundred bricks or tiles each time. The inner body of the kiln is made out of recycled firebrick. This is surrounded by an outer shell of common red brick. In between is filled with dirt for insulation and to stop cold air leakage into the kiln.</div><br /><div></div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfR3Qwu44tvIJfO5UOytTWLZP11GDfNBGQrsC_7oylVDzJ36l-aml5mVp017CnvY6RYKIsr8zQZFhIK2AQP2Lf3FJiIGq42tvZGAdHwMyzHYpTz8z-dq4DRBXbPeYjP7ihR0fKphDvx6-Z/s1600/canalkiln040811a.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5593529474523677842" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfR3Qwu44tvIJfO5UOytTWLZP11GDfNBGQrsC_7oylVDzJ36l-aml5mVp017CnvY6RYKIsr8zQZFhIK2AQP2Lf3FJiIGq42tvZGAdHwMyzHYpTz8z-dq4DRBXbPeYjP7ihR0fKphDvx6-Z/s320/canalkiln040811a.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div></div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD6bAg97lxQzh51WWcnYDnQV26Ioy0cDbk-8YTyYPEBVaj4MoeQYODTJxAci9MCKhWgeyIzkLTTDs69gXuozvtNtXPCow1Y2KSpOuUK41IMarQS3hV55gHBAw9KMSPG9jL7VHFB38eeK7S/s1600/kilncanalpark1.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5593530527792507714" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD6bAg97lxQzh51WWcnYDnQV26Ioy0cDbk-8YTyYPEBVaj4MoeQYODTJxAci9MCKhWgeyIzkLTTDs69gXuozvtNtXPCow1Y2KSpOuUK41IMarQS3hV55gHBAw9KMSPG9jL7VHFB38eeK7S/s320/kilncanalpark1.jpg" /></a> <br /><div>The new kiln is the largest I have ever built so far. Because of that it has put a strain on my supply of brick, requiring me to tear down and recycle both of my other kilns for the needed brick.</div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5-4Bx9ZWLKsRYBZzJPWP322_QLjQWNMe7Bk3WNXzFHyLCBoJHU_fX-LUEujaPZJ8gypt9KIQSx-ci8Bz2FdQkOvewIRrf3XkK370D7GZrLc4pUq1NgNQGOT_mYnWt0KMpsDgGFH_uEkMD/s1600/IMG_1514.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5593530525869688482" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5-4Bx9ZWLKsRYBZzJPWP322_QLjQWNMe7Bk3WNXzFHyLCBoJHU_fX-LUEujaPZJ8gypt9KIQSx-ci8Bz2FdQkOvewIRrf3XkK370D7GZrLc4pUq1NgNQGOT_mYnWt0KMpsDgGFH_uEkMD/s320/IMG_1514.jpg" /></a> <br /><div>The barn kiln wasn't a big loss to me as it never worked out as well as I would have liked. Failing to reach peak temps no matter what I tried.</div><br /><div>But to loose my backyard bottlekiln is sad. It more than did as I hoped it would. Its sacrafice for the greater good will not be in vain. I hope to one day bring it back bigger and better.</div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvigo0vnzI0A6Z5vAXhFp1fNtB2_r3-21iMI04dFQ7rlQ9FoCscaYTEKHrSnF20wBcA7bdUpl8wY6tsfP5lrtOLSvcCbgHSJwelMow5mVjuqQuAyltzDFv5uAsbt2sA_zYHDmD31IG0c-e/s1600/IMG_1763.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5593530536107649602" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvigo0vnzI0A6Z5vAXhFp1fNtB2_r3-21iMI04dFQ7rlQ9FoCscaYTEKHrSnF20wBcA7bdUpl8wY6tsfP5lrtOLSvcCbgHSJwelMow5mVjuqQuAyltzDFv5uAsbt2sA_zYHDmD31IG0c-e/s320/IMG_1763.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div></div></div>rwhendrixhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11031355356490984560noreply@blogger.com1
