I have been kicking around the idea for awhile now. The idea of offering for sale a custom made brick with your name pressed into it. Maybe for promotional stuff, like a town fundraiser. That or the name of your town, club, buisness, maybe even a favorite team name. I dont think anybody has ever offered this in this way before. Yes ive seen engraved brick sold all over the place. But not 3-D "pressed" in names, just like the old time bricks had in them.
It would be very unique.
Wouldn't be near as much written on the bricks. Pretty much a single word or maybe two.
Engraved bricks can offer more words, but not the depth. They just look like they were something added on later. An afterthought. Not like that when its really a part of the brick itself.
Im looking for opinions and feedback on this idea!
This looks like a great idea, especially if you had an interchangeable alphabet ala printer's press, and didn't have to make a new mold for each name. I saw a community-sponsored park the other day that had a sign listing each donor who had "bought" a brick for the main path... how much better if their names were actually ON the bricks!!! I say go ahead and talk to your mayor, planning committee, your local rotary club, etc. and let them know the idea is out there. If you know of a big project going up that might welcome donors (arts centers, etc), suggest that they use your bricks to thank the donors right on the building. You may have to "donate" one project first so people can admire the idea. May not happen right away, but eventually... sure!
ReplyDelete@ Diana, Yes I was thinking of something along those lines too. Interchngeable type face, humm, good idea. I will let you know if I get anywhere with that idea or selling any brick. It could be fun.
